Frequently Asked Questions

*Masks must be worn by guests at all times in the venue and may not be removed for any reason.

Color Factory has always maintained a world-class facilities team and cleaning procedures across each of our locations. Moving forward, we’re leading our industry by implementing additional safety protocols to ensure each employee and guest is safe, including a mask requirement for everyone who attends. Please click HERE to read about our safety protocols. If you already purchased a ticket, but feel sick, have tested positive for COVID-19, or have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, contact us at support@colorfactory.co so we can reschedule your tickets for another date.

YEP! Color Factory is doing our part to keep COVID-19 cases down. That means, during Phase 1 of our reopening, masks must be worn AT ALL TIMES (even while taking photos)!

APPROVED MASKS: well-secured cloth or surgical mask that fits snugly against the face and covers an individual’s nose and mouth. It must be made of a material that prevents the discharge and release of respiratory droplets from a person’s nose or mouth.
NOT ALLOWED:
Face coverings with exhaust valves.
Face coverings made with materials such as mesh or lace fabrics.
Face coverings that do not cover the nose and mouth.
Face shields without the addition of a face covering.
Face coverings with inappropriate imagery/language displayed.
Bandanas and/or neck gaiters without the addition of an approved face mask.

Each location includes a unique mix of site-specific installations, fan favorites, collaborations with new artists and creatives, and partnerships with local nonprofits and small food businesses we love.
Along with your curiosity about color, you must bring your ticket (and someone over 18 years old, if you are under 16 years old). You must also bring a face mask, as everyone 3 years old and older in NYC and everyone 6 years old and older in Houston will be required to wear one at all times while visiting our exhibit. Branded face masks are available for purchase onsite.
Sadly, no. Tickets can only be purchased in advance through our website. Tickets purchased on unauthorized third-party websites or through scalpers are not permitted.

Tickets are generally non-refundable and non-transferrable. However, if you feel sick, have tested positive for COVID-19, or have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, contact us at support@colorfactory.co so we can reschedule your tickets for another date.

Please plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early. If you arrive more than 10 minutes after your purchased time slot, we will help you reschedule your tickets for another time.
Our team will double check your ticket and your temperature at the door. If your temperature is 100.4° or higher, we will reschedule your visit for another time, free of charge. Once inside, you’ll register to access the photo booths throughout the exhibit and sign a required liability waiver.
It varies for each guest, but visits usually last about an hour to an hour and a half. Additionally, your experience extends beyond Color Factory with our free Color Map, which is offered at the end of your visit. Our map guides you through nearby neighborhoods to discover even more colorful surprises our team has created for you.

Yes! And, you can take your time going through each room. However, we ask that you don’t revisit any areas you’ve already passed through. (One-way only!)

Yes, Color Factory is ADA compliant.
Color Factory is made with all audiences in mind. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Some installations require looking or listening (rather than touching), so we ask that adults supervise accordingly. Wall text and our staff are there to guide you and ensure you experience all the colors.
We provide stroller storage in our lobby (strollers must be folded). Strollers are not permitted in the exhibit due to the sometimes intimate layout.
Outside food or drinks are not permitted inside Color Factory. Special treats — edible and otherwise — are part of the experience and will be offered to you in certain installations.
Bathrooms are available on-site at the beginning and near the end of the tour. We encourage guests to use them before entering the exhibit.

Please hold on to your hats (and cell phones)! Color Factory is not responsible for missing items. While we do have a lost and found, we cannot guarantee that your missing item will
be located. Please contact support@colorfactory.co for more details.

We encourage you to take as many photos as you like (as long as you’re wearing a face mask at all times)! That being said, please be considerate of others enjoying the exhibit. Tripods, external flashes and lights, excessive props, commercial or product shoots, media shoots, press interviews, and all professional video equipment are prohibited without advance approval and accompaniment from a Color Factory representative. Contact us at pr@colorfactory.co for requests. To give you the option of putting your phone away and to help you appreciate the exhibits more fully, we’ve integrated photo booth stations throughout our space. Please note: despite our best efforts to keep these cameras & lenses clean, operational, and calibrated correctly, we do experience equipment failure from time to time. We can’t guarantee every photo station’s equipment at any given moment, so if you are worried about getting a particular shot please make sure to capture it on your personal camera as well.

We are committed to working with and giving back to nonprofit groups in the communities we are located in. In NYC, we’ve collaborated with and made donations to 826NYC, God’s Love We Deliver, Coalition for the Homeless, RAICES Texas, LAND Gallery and Housing Works. In Houston, we’re collaborating with and making donations to The Montrose Center and Project Color Corps. A portion of sales in our Color Factory gift shops go to our partner nonprofits.
Currently, we don’t have student discounts.

Color Factory is so thankful for the service of the US Armed Forces. We offer a 10% discount to any active, veteran, retired, or reservist personnel. Email us at support@colorfactory.co to access your code!

Unfortunately, no. In order to maintain social distancing protocols, we are not offering group tours or events at this time.
While we love animals, they are not allowed in the exhibit. Service animals are permitted, under their masters’ control and on a leash (as authorized by applicable law).

First, be sure to check your spam or junk folder! If you still can’t find your photos, email support@colorfactory.co with your name, location you visited, the photo card QRC, and the email address you used to register your card.

Firearms, ammunition, knives, and weapons of any kind are prohibited inside our venues.
